Role:

Our speech-language pathologists have a wide range and depth of educational and clinical experiences in cleft and other craniofacial disorders. They partner with the medical team to provide insight into which types of procedures or non-surgical options ensure the best speech outcome for every individual patient. They additionally work with patients and families on nutrition and general speech and language education.


Commitment: 10 to 12 Days

Requirements:

  • Currently licensed and in good standing. Graduate of specialty training in anesthesia and achieved highest level of certification available.
  • Certified in Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or equivalent course.
  • Certified in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) or equivalent course is recommended. Currently caring for pediatric patients.


FUNDED BY:

Partially self-funded $500, partially org funded. There is a $ 500 CAD team fee for those who have been on fewer than 25 missions. This helps to cover the cost of breakfasts, lunches, and accommodation while on the mission.


Operation Smile covers the cost of flights.
